Hi. My little ol' 2003 Matrix is having issues. First speedometer all over the place. Replaced the speed sensor, had the VSS pigtail replaced as well, at a transmission shop.That fixed the issue for a while. Now almost a year later....it's repeat time. Back to the transmission shop, their repairs are still good. Said to take to a dealer...which I have done. The dealer.....1) catalytic converter was clogged and 2) sway bar links were bad, didn't want to pay the dealer prices. Took it to a small shop, fixed it. Back at the dealer....they are still trying to determine the speedometer all over the place. MAY have found it....stripped gear at the speed sensor. So....looking for that little item. However, while the car is in park...the speedometer still goes crazy. We are thinking electrical issue. Anyone come across this? AND.....the car on occasion will not go into reverse. This causes issues when you are stuck in a parking stall that you could not pull out of. Any thoughts or experiences?

For the reverse issue, is the shifter moving when you press the release on the gear selector? When you select reverse, nothing happens?

Scan for codes yet? Could possibly be a bad shift solenoid. Have you drained and refilled the transmission fluid?
