Does anyone know what cars have a compatible transmission? It is there a better option (6spd) than just fixing, or installing the same thing used?
I hear the loud grinding whirling noise that is unaffected by neutral or clutch pedal position, so likely the inner shaft bearing....

this is the information i have been able to find:

2004-2006 Scion XA XB 1nf 5 SPD Manual Transmission 1.5l 5mt
2003-2008-Toyota 1ZZFE 5 SPD Manual Transmission 5MT

i think the ECHO is similar in set up as well, since the xA and xB of those years used the ECHO drivetrain.
