Further question after my battery cables were briefly reversed which blew fuses (including main 140amp fuse and a couple others including a fuse to the accelerator/fuel).

So one of the fuses that blew went to the accelerator/fuel because when we replaced the main fuse, the car started, but the gas pedal didn't work. Now all the fuses have been fixed and replaced and there are no warning lights on the dashboard (just like before).

But now, the engine idles way too low... like 500rpm or lower. It wants to die at almost every stop sign or red light.

Does the rate of the engine idle have to be reset manually? Or does the onboard computer know to adjust this eventually?

Seems like I read somewhere when trying to google information about fuses that someone said the engine would eventually correct itself. Is that true?

Thanks in advance.
