2007 Camry Hood - RKSport (Painted on car)

Hi, I received my painted hood from the shop yesterday. I couldn't upload it until now because I was having trouble with the thread starter.

Here are the pics, sorry it's a little dark. I really like how it looks, let me know if you guys have any questions.

IMO it's hideous, plus it's no use. My philosophy is, "If it isn't functional, it's useless."

It's too dark...I can't really see it. How did you address the 'functional' ram?
I didn't cut the hole for it to be functional. I just left it the way it was and it looks pretty much exactly like the old hood did from underneath. I didn't expect to gain much from the so-called functionality of it anyway. Leaving it closed makes it easier for me to cut it later in a different spot if I get a custom intake.

Here's a better pic I took this morning:

Looks OK, only because it doesn't seem like the paint shop did a even half-decent job of matching the paint color of the factory blue, your daylight picture looks way off on the color.:disappoin But it definately takes away from the attention the LED valve stem caps took before.

Actually the colour matches perfectly. I don't know if you can see it in the picture because it's too reflective.

Edit: Also, the blue colour is so dark it would be hard to tell a difference. The one thing that is cool about the blue metallic (or most metallics) is that it has a different colour at different angles. That might be why it might look like it's a different colour.

Any issues with mounting it?
Yeah, it was a bitch to install. There were the following main issues:

-Front latch connector at the front of the hood was 1 or 2 millimeteres too high so it wasn't catching the latch. We loosened the three bolts that held the latch in place and moved it up as high as it goes and re-tightened it. I still have to push very hard on the hood to make it catch the latch but at least it catches now.

-Holes for mounting the wiper fluid nozzles weren't cut

-The edge on the left side of the hood (when sitting in the car facing forward) was about 1mm too close. Fixed that by loosening the driver side fender bolt near the windsheild and moving it as far to the side as possible.

Sounds like alot more work in fixing it to be right then it was worth IMO. But kudos to you for being the ginuea pig. Did you let RKSport know about the issues?

Here are some more, I hope they're good angles. I stood farther back to get the whole car in the picture:

I agree, there is something about the flow that isn't right. Maybe it is the black between the hood and nose/fenders or something. I have a Blue Ribbon SE and my gaps are much less noticeable.

bleh..... not feeling it whatsoever. It almost looks like god came down and tore out chunks of your hood. The lines just do not look right like that to me. Makes the hood look too "busy" almost. If that makes sense.

The paint looks good though. And, as is the case with almost ALL after market hoods and body peices, they almost NEVER fit properly. Theres usually some kind of adjustment needed. Although I would bitch about the hood not coming with the nozzles pre-drilled. Thats some BS.

LOL... and im pretty sure everyone knows my opinion about that "RAM AIR" function.... roflmao! I still say we should start a class action lawsuit for false adverstisement. That hood can ram air like I can leap tall buildings in a single bound.

Oh, and stop spelling color wrong. Its color, not colour... geez.... rofl, (just kiddin, you canadians spell weird.... :) )
