Hello, 07 Camry V6 LE here, purchased back in April 2006. Currently ~26,000 miles.

Issue:
- When driving on smooth roads and at higher speeds, 70mph+, a "vibration" seems to come from the front end.
- I have purchased a whole new set of tires (Goodyear ResponsEdge) and balanced them 3 times already (even with a "dynamic roadforce balance on a Hunter? balancer.) I have swapped the tires front and back, side to side, as well as used the full size spare, however the vibration still exists.
- The vibration is noticeable and can be felt through the entire car and through the steering wheel, but only when the road is smooth. Bumpy roads, the whole car is vibrating, so can't really feel the "smooth road high speed vibration."
- Lower speeds on smooth roads, less than 50mph, none of the "highspeed vibration" exists.

Can anyone suggest what could possible be wrong? The local dealer says that it's the expansion joints in the road and when they took it out for a "drive," they couldn't feel the vibration. But it is indeed there.

Rotors were recently replaced as well as the brake pads. The same issue existed before the brake and rotor replacement.

There is no vibration (the warped rotor feel) when braking even before the rotor replacement.

Im having a similar problem with my LE. At above65 mph i too get the vibration. Its not a constant vibration for me tho. My vibration seems to pulse. Vibrates for a second, then stops for a second, then vibrates again. And i mean literally a second. Had tires balanced and aligned. Still happening.

YES, that is EXACTLY the symptom. The vibration would go in and out, but for me, it's more like every 2-3 seconds.

I feel that my Camry is really cheap. Hit a bump and the car make crack sound everywhere. And in my door there seem to be something lose or hitting the panel that it makes tapping noise. I gonna wait till summer and open it up see if I can fix it.

I have tried that as well and various combinations at hwy speeds. On the smooth roads where the vibration is more noticeable, I have put it into 4th/5th gear and floored it, issue still exists. Also, put it into neutral when going 70-85mph+, vibration still exists.

You just may a have a wheel out of round. The road force balancers do not always pick that up. There is a slim chance that you could have a tie rod binding, or a loose balljoint. even slimmer would be control arm bushings. There are many small possibilities. Sometimes these vibrations are drivtrain related as well. Could be a faulty torque converter, (by this I mean engaging and disengaging several times over a small amount of time.) Or driveaxles could have some play in them. For the one with a manual transmission, obviously the torque converter comment is omitted. Let me know if there is anymore questions.

i can also get a strange vibration at 30-40 mph running at a real low rpm, 1200rpm give or take, and very very slightly giving it gas. when it vibrates here its constant and vibrates the car hard.

You know, I think I noticed this for the first time today. I was on my normal commute, running cruise control at 70 and the vibration started, lasted for about a minute and then stopped. First and only time, but certainly very noticeable. My first thought was the road, but I travel that stretch of road every day and I'm sure I've been in that lane before.

Rotate every 5,000 miles. Never hit any curbs. Avoid pot holes at all cost.

I went into my local dealership on Monday and had my oil changed and tires rotated (front to back).

The next day after about 50MPH, the whole car was vibrating/shaking and pulls to right. Went back to dealer and told them problem.

They balanced my tires and checked to make sure all lugs tightened down correctly.

Still viberates AND pulls to right.

They know the problem still exist after a road test.

They said internal tire problem. I am getting a new tire today (same kind I have currently). We will see what happens.

Same here, brand new, no road vibrations at all. NEVER hit any bumps/potholes etc. Very careful to avoid any jarring road hazards.

Now, after new tires, rebalancing 3 times, vibration galore.

I had vibrations at higher speed - entire car and very much through the steering wheel as well. It turned out to be two bad tires (out of round). In that case, re-balancing does not help. Had to get two new tires and problem was solved.

I am going Saturday morning to the tire place that has a contract with the dealership for wheel and tire needs. (The wheels and tires I have came with the car when I bought it new).

I went to talk to tire place yesterday right before closing just to touch bases. I talked with the owner.

They said, without looking at my car, that the problem could be improper mounting that lead to wearing away inside of wheel mounts and warping hub...or could be bad tires...or improper balancing.

He said the dealer is full of it as far as to what reasons they gave me, which I knew. They said they would take care of me right and bill the dealership.

I know they have great service and really do put the customer first. My friend knows they pretty well too.

I will update when I know.

I bought a brand new '07 Toyota Camry LE in August. The car was everything I wanted. However, as soon as I bought the car and drove it faster than 65, the steering wheel started vibrating. Since it was my first new car, I thought it would just go away. Since it didn't, I scheduled an appointment which required me to come back to the dealership after a week.

1st time (1 week after buying the car) - They balanced the tires and everything else that was standard for vibrating steering wheels.
2nd time (1 day after) - They kept it for a week or so and decided that the wheel and rods connection wasn't good so they said that they fixed it and gave me new alloy wheels.
3rd time (1 week after) - The vibration reduced but was now totally random. This time they kept it for a week again and brought in some Toyota specialist and they figured they had to weld something. When you weld a brand new car, I call it a lemon.

But since they fixed it, I guess I couldn't do anything else. However, the vibration started once again after about 6 months.

4th time (Tomorrow) - Lets see if they can give me my money back.

I am looking to buy a used Toyota instead of worrying about this car. Toyota still is the best and so I am not disappointed.

Well, I'd recommend "Look at dzcustom's post, right before yours." Go to a truly competent tire shop, and let them give it their best shot.

I'm sorry, "dealership techs," but this is again one of those areas where I just don't think the dealership/warranty process gets the job done very well at all. "Hurry up and shove the thing out the door as soon as humanly possible" doesn't seem to be the way to do stuff like "get everything in perfect balance."

Even if you have to pay some significant bucks for a tire shop to work on the car, it might well be some of the best money you ever spent.

Just an update, original poster of this message thread...

I contacted America Tires Co., where I purchased the tires, and the manager was kind enough to replace all 4 tires with a completely different set/brand. Replaced the Goodyear ResponsEdge tires with Michelin Primacy's. And the whole vibration issue at hwy speeds has been resolved.

Even after rebalancing and "dynamic road force balancing" the ResponsEdge's (rebalanced 4 times,) I suppose they were never able to get them balanced, even though they supposedly were.

Thanks for everyone's insight and help! After 7 months of living with this vibration, the Camry is back to "normal." Now onto trying the fix the B-pillar rattle....again...

Excellent, good news. I had the same experience a few weeks back - 2 brand new winter tires were out of round, no balancing helps with that as the tires "flatter". Just happens sometimes - good you got it resolved.

Hate to resurrect an old post, however, about 2000 miles drive on the "new" tires, the high-speed vibration issue returned.

Before taking it to the dealer (and they saying it's bad tires again) anyone have any other insight on what the issue may be? I can't imagine that replacing 3 sets of tires, and having the exact same vibration issue (70mph+) is due to tires...
