The other day my passenger front door speaker blew. I looked up the size (6.5in) then went to bestbuy to pickup some new 6.5in speakers. I found a pair I liked and brought it home to switch out. To my surprise, the new speakers I had bought were actually 6.25 in diameter, but were advertised as 6.5in. Of course this was too small to fit in the speaker hole. My question is what speakers are out there that are true 6.5in speakers if there are any? I really dont want to have to make a wood mount to replace the speaker. What speakers have you bought that fit fine in the doors?

Thanks for the help!

I just recently upgraded my wife's whole stereo system in her '05 Sequoia last year and the speakers that I purchased to replace her old ones were Pioneer 6.5" coaxials for all four doors. Those fit great. I also purchased a pair of NVX 6.5" component speakers for my '02 4runner and they worked great also.

Really late reply. Did you ever fix this?

I don't know if the '07 is different than the '03. Mine deteriorated and started buzzing. The '03 has a 7" woofer on the front and it's 2ohm not 4ohm. Replacements don't work as well without doing other stuff also. many threads for my years (02-06?).

A place in Florida called Simply Speakers sells the foam to DIY the repair and bring back to life ($25). Getting speakers out from truck easy. cleaning up old speakers and gluing new surround a bit messy but not hard. Next morning reinstalled and all fixed. Wife happy = priceless.

I have since done the surrounds on my old powered Kenwood sub that was hanging around many years (just put in my sons car and he's happy) and my OLD 27+ year Bazooka dual tube just need to mount in my Sonata.

If you were happy with original sound then the refoam from Simply Speakers is highly recommended!

I got speaker adapters from https://store.audiodesignscg.com/product/hyundai-kia-speaker-adapters-aftermarket-speaker-install/ and they custom made them for 6.75" that my CDT speakers were. VERY nice fit and the foam on top seals it to the door panel same as original. I had them off 1-2 times doing other stuff and you can see indent ring in foam.
