Congrats on your new-to-you truck! The above link should answer all your questions.

Quick answer about fluids in the TC and diffs -- I use Mobil-1 full synthetic 75W-90. If your truck has an optional limited-slip rear diff, you'll need a friction modifier, and some work better than others. We can research that for you if necessary.

Put your VIN into this site it willcreate a build sheet for your truck.
LSD diffs were used pretty regularly on the 2005-2008 Tacomas.
I pulled up several using the info you provided and they had lSD's. There is usually a sticker on the rear diff stating Use LSD Oil only.

There might be a tag on the diff that will tell you. Old-school method, which might work for our trucks, is to jack up the rear of the truck so both back tires are off the ground. In neutral, parking brake off, rotate either tire by hand. If the opposite side tire rotates in the opposite direction, you have an open diff -- no LSD. If it rotates in the same direction as the one you are turning, you have an LSD.

Here's your fluid capacities if you don't already have them. Buy 6 quarts total.
3.0 quarts for rear diff
1.6 quarts for front diff
1.1 quarts for transfer case

The LSD (limited slip differential) So only in the front and rear diffs. Transfer case uses gear oil like the Mobil 1, 75w-90w

Check for a tag on the rear diff or jack it up and rotate the rear wheels by hand.

Is this P/N on that sticker? 41039-34070
If so it's a carrier for a LSD diff.

The LSD (limited slip differential) So only in the front and rear diffs. Transfer case uses gear oil like the Mobil 1, 75w-90w
LSD is rear diff only (is so equipped) but no LSD in the front diff from the factory.
