2008 Sienna Oil and Filter

12124 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Jaketab
My 2008 Sienna is due for the 1st oil change. Could someone tell me where the oil filter is located on this vehicle? There is a cannister on the front side of the engine just below the exhaust manifold. Is that the filter housing?

I would also like to hear from others if they have been using synthetic oil and how it is preforming.

Thanks - Jaketab

You are looking at the filter housing. You need to get the filter element from the dealer, it will come with the o rings and a fitting to drain the filter.

use a 3/8" drive to remove the filter drain cover, drain it. Next, use a 65mm 14 Flute filter wrench to take the filter out.
tacojet,

Thanks for reply. AutoZone had the filter element with o-rings and fitting.
Is the best access to the filter from topside or underside?
