Hi! I don't have a power liftgate on my 09 Venza. It does have a locking mechanism once the door is basically closed, but you have to manually lift and close. I came out to a dead battery yesterday and once I charged it back up, I found the latch is engaged but apparently the locking mechanism isn't working so the door appears open to the car and the light associated with that warning must be draining the battery. Because the lock is engaged, the door won't open. Is there a manual way of forcing the latch to open the door? Thanks for your help!
