Greetings all,

I am installing a custom head unit and one of the parts of the wiring harness I found has an OBDII adapter with can high and can low extending from it. I am looking to use an microcontroller to interpret the signals and maybe eventually feed codes back into the can, but that would be later.

My computer that I'll be attaching these wires to needs to receive no more than 5v, and when reading with my multimeter is seems that the can high is ~ 13 V with some variation. Does 13v seem about right for the can high?

I can explain more about the project if anyone is curious, but the real question I need answered now is the voltage over this OBDII can high port. Thank you all.
