I'm new to the forum! My 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE (96,000 miles) it has developed a pretty loud rattle which seems to be coming from the engine compartment. It only is present if you are driving with a head/side wind. My local dealer said everything up front checked out OK! Does anybody out there have any idea of what may be causing this annoying noise? Thank you for your help.

Welcome to the forum.
Please, do not forget to check New Owner FAQs in my signature.

I have been to this forum for almost 7 years and never heard of this. Is it plastic type or metal type rattle? Any chance you can record it and post here? Is it related to speed? Or, wind ONLY? See, when you move, front is always under natural "wind".

Wild guess is - something stuck underneath the car. I had bags, twigs, you name it. They all make ruckus.

Thank you for your quick reply. I will check out the New Owner FAQ's.
Frankly, I think the sound is more of a plastic rattle. I thought maybe the front license plate but that is tight & solid. You can hear it when you start driving only if there is a head wind or side wind usually the speed of the vehicle is above 30 mph. The dealer said they did a detailed look under the car and found nothing out of place. Nothing is stuck under the car! I will have to have someone take it for a test drive when it is windy. If anyone else has an idea I would really appreciate your input.

Loose grill, loose belly pan, loose bumper skirt. Oh, and last but not least. My AC radiator grill fell inside the bumper and was sitting on the bumper skirt. Check on that too. It's wide narrow grill in the bumper lower section.
