I took the car in a few times, had the battery replaced and the fob reset, they said they think its the keyless entry module and want 2200$ total with new fob keys. The push Start/Stop works perfect, the touch handle works perfect to lock and unlock. The red light on the fob lights up everytime I push a button. Just cant get the buttons to respond, no lock/unlock, no trunk. But they all work by sensor for unlocking or opening. Anyone heard of this, and if it needs a new module would I be able to install a Viper alarm for 400$ instead, or would an aftermarket keyless entry mess with the push-button start?

With the exception of popping the truck occasionally my GF never even takes the key out of her purse for her Camry. There is no way I would bother paying that much money to fix a car that old especially if you can still get in and start it with the smart functions still working.
