I've got myself in somewhat of a pickle.

I'm trying to install cruise on a 2012 tacoma. I've got all the parts here to do it, but I cannot manage to get the two covers off of the steering wheel.
i've found an older write up, saying there are two tabs, however i'm not certain that it pertains to this model of vehicle, because I haven't found any tabs, and if I used any more strength than i already am, I'm likely to tear the steering wheel off.

What's the trick to getting the pieces off?

Saw on TW that you got it figured out (although cruise still doesn't work). Please let us know if you get it working since there are others trying this on the 2012 too.

thanks. I hate to tear into things too much, since it's my dads truck.
I guess next step is to figure out whether it's a mexico or cali truck.
I have no idea whether the wire to the ECU is something that I can do or not. :headbang:
