Wife just bought a 2016 XLE so I am thinking buy a 2012-2014 V6-XLE just to have a little change but not sure how they differ in options, ergonomics and drivability wise?

Is 2015+ that much different for one to go after it?

Thanks

The difference between the 2012 - 2014 to the 2015 - 2017 is mainly the exterior. The interior is minor, the dasboard/centre concole area. Mecanical is identical.

Basically the 2015 - 2017 is a refresh, so it won't make major changes to the vehicle.

I think the interior is far better in the 2015+ than the 2012-2014. Plastic looks less cheap and more refine. I compared the two and I prefer the newer interior.

^^ I'd argue that..... as unbiased as possible. XLE to XLE, they are the same IMO... obviously changed a couple of the styling cues.
Quality and feel wise, the new ones I was checking out at the dealer are more than comparable to mine [similar mileages as mine is very low]

The one thing I wish my '12 had was a black interior... Why oh why did they think everyone getting into an XLE want light cream/beige combo is beyond me!

Would you guys consider 13+ Avalon over the 12+ V6-XLE? I like the Avalon's winder/sleeker and lowered exterior stance but don't care much for the center dash though.

My consideration is Avalon Touring as the seats are much better than the Limited version.

Thoughts?

The Avalon is an amazing car with the feature set that is amazing.

Your getting more standard then you will get in the XLE v6 and at least in my opinion a more Lexus like quality.

The Camry was always marketed as the every mans car. I love my 2014.5 XLE but if I was not going to take a huge hit, I would trade for an Avalon in a heart beat.

Yes....

That was my list; Lexus [kept getting outbid on each one], Avalon [so few would go through, and again, outbid], Camry XLE was an impulse - a little bit, anyways.
