Has anyone changed out their evaporator thermistor and do you have to take the whole dash apart? I have a bad one ( not measuring the required resistance per Toyota specs). I can’t find anywhere that this has been done or videos online. Thanks In advance!

Please clarify exactly the purpose of the evaporator thermistor, also how to diagnose a faulty one.
Sounds like it won't be any fun at all working down there by the evaporator coil.
I'd check out YouTube first thing.
Thanks

The thermistor reads the temp coming off the evaporator and sends a signal back to the amplifier to cycle the compressor. This keeps the coil from getting too cold and freezing. Depending on the failure it will either keep the compressor on all the time or not let it come on at all....
