I live in Texas. Im looking put on new Tint on my 2013 Toyota Camry. The Tint laws in Texas are 25% in the front and any tint darkness in the back. I was wondering what tint darkness most people in text get on the back windows?

Most people go with 35 VLT all the way around. You have to be careful about night vision with a darker film. But more important than the VLT is the solar rejection of the film:
  • Dyed films - poor solar heat rejection and color tends to fade - avoid like the plague
  • Charcoal - mediocre solar heat rejection, but color stable
  • Metallic - excellent solar heat rejection, but can block some radio, cell phone reception.
  • Ceramic (sometimes called nano) - excellent solar heat rejection, does not block radio or cell phone reception, but expensive.
There are several hybrid films on the market that combine two of the above, such as charcoal and ceramic.

With metallic or ceramic tint films, you can use a higher VLT (lighter) film and still get excellent solar heat rejection.

So here's what my '14 XLE Premium looks like literally as I picked it up from the tint shop with 30% on the 4 door windows, 20% on the rear pocket windows, and 20% on the rear windshield. I love it so far! Really helps in the Arkansas sun. I can get better pics from different angles if you'd like. I almost wish I would've done 20% all the way around (except windshield), I feel like you could easily get away with that.
