I'm interested in either updating the maps on the stock navigation system or getting an aftermarket head unit with Apple Carplay, probably the latter. Does anyone have any experience with an aftermarket head unit? Does it work with my stock backup camera? How hard is it to install? Thanks.

I just bought an Android head unit from aliexpress. This one. The seller had me buy a canbus module to get the stock backup camera to work, but I'm still working out how to get it working. The wiring diagram the seller had was completely wrong for my Venza. Everything else works pretty well so far. I mainly wanted it for wireless android auto, which works great. It uses the same app for Carplay.

Stock camera needs 6V, the canbus decoder should send power to it, there's a connector with just the camera feed and power, in my case the camera was fine but it just needed the reverse signal mapped, you need to get the pink wire from the canbus unit and feed it to the HU connector iirc
