I have my eye on a local used 2014 Toyota Camry LE with around 30k miles on the odometer. I feel I can get a good deal, but before I go forward I am wondering if there are any problems/issues/bugs/annoyances with this model year?

Hoping you Camry experts can help me out.

Thanks!

Only problem I have had with my 2014.5 with 66k is door locks. To be fair though I'm in and out of my car at least 20+ times per day so even though my car has 66k miles it probably has 200k worth of door locking and unlocking. All of mine have failed now. Luckily I got the extended warranty

I wonder if my 2014.5 came off the line around the same time yours did. All four of my power door lock actuators failed within the first year and a half and roughly 22,000 miles. They must have a bad batch every so often.

Probably so, I have a friend that is a master tech and he said that Toyota switched to some crappy ones at that time and has now swapped back to their old distributor. Going to try and take a day off and get him to change out all 3. Wonder if my extended warranty will cover all 3 with one deductible?

Here at my dealer, we've only had one 2014 Camry come through that had issues with the door locks. We've replaced the drivers twice, the remaining doors once and the truck once. Has yet to come back in six months. We were beginning to think there was a gremlin.

Right now my driver door lock is the only door that actually works I did notice that my passenger lock switch will lock the doors but won't do anything when unlock is pressed. Wonder if that has anything to do with my problem

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I purchased a certified pre-owned 2014 Camry LE last week and have been enjoying it so far.

Our 14 Camry LE just rolled 50,000 miles. No problems. Make sure the torque converter recall was done.
Thanks for the reply. I entered the VIN on Toyota's website and the results show: "There are no open Safety Recalls or Service Campaigns for this vehicle." Looks like my specific Camry was not affected with this recall.

Enjoy your new car! The only thing that I have to say is that I have had issues with the A/C. It smells like mold. Make sure to switch your A/C from Recycled Air Mode to Fresh Air Mode before turning off your car in order to avoid mold buildup in the A/C evaporator that will really stink! I bought my 2014.5 in August 2014, had a total A/C refresh in October 2015, and another in 7/2016. It's starting to stink again.
