Hello My husband and I have a question and was hoping maybe someone on here can help us out. So we have a 2014 highlander with JBL speakers. We recently took our car to get looked at because it's making a horrible sound on our speakers in the back. We believe it's our subwoofer, we can hear it while we sit in the front. When we took it in to get looked at (toyota dealership) they said it wasn't our speaker but everyone that's heard it says it defiantly our subwoofer or speaker on our trunk door. Has anyone had this problem and if so what did you guys do to solve this problem.

I have heard of others having this problem. Some find the problem is the vibration of the license plate on the back hatch. Others have had to go inside the back hatch and install some cushin. I would go to a reputable stereo shop and have them pad the hatch and stop the rattle. I'm hearing vibration with certain songs with a lot of base but I know it's the license plate. There is two pads on the back but they are too high up. I will be adding two at the bottom. Hope that helps.
