http://www.toyotaofeasley.com/servicefaqs/how-do-i-check-my-engine-oil-level/

I checked both of my hybrids and there are only 2 marks on DS.
Thank you for the response. This car was purchased new about 18 months ago by my son-in-law. His manual and all the online resources show a flat dipstick with 2 holes. No one other than he or I has been under the hood since the day he picked it up at the dealership. Nevertheless, the dipstick is as described. In all other respects, it appears to be a standard Toyota dipstick.

So it's same dipstick across the lineup and years, and why wouldn't it be? I'd suggest to take her back to dealer and tell them to swap out DS for the normal one right away, to avoid any confusion.
Also, I am burning to ask this. Are you sure it IS a hole, not a bubble? As I have seen oil bubbles on DS that do awfully look like holes, until wiped off.,

It's my son-in-law's car so I'll mention your suggestion of the swap to him. It is definitely a hole. I've been working on cars, my own and for a short time professionally, for over 50 years so I know what I am looking at. I appreciate the suggestion, though. Over the weekend I'll try to take a picture of it then post it.
