Hi. My Jap 2015 RAV4 manual adjusting seat doesn't seem to hold vertical height very well. Over time (maybe a week) the seat eventually goes down to lowest position and starts to make clicking sounds when the car is in motion. Once it goes to lowest position, it sounds like there's something loose dangling inside the seat or panels. Is there any fix for this kind of thing? Is there anything that can be easily opened up on the seat to check if anything's loose? Thanks.

If you have one of those telescoping examination mirror and a flashlight, try take a look underneath (I assume you were talking about) the driver seat from the rear passenger foot well; if you can spot anything and have enough room that's great; otherwise, for the sake of space/room to find the questionable parts within the seat "cushion frame", may be the next easiest is to remove the entire seat out of the car then flip the seat up side down...

As for needing any replacement part, you can find diagrams and parts list from pretty much any online Toyota parts stores. Example below:

I had a chance to drive in some interesting terrain today. For 4 hours, I was on a very bumpy road. The whole car shook and vibrated so it was a nice opportunity to try and figure out where the noises are coming from. I put my hand on the height and recline adjusting handles and the surrounding plastic on the driver seat (items 11, 13 and 14 on the diagram above) and felt the clicks emanate from them when the car would go over bump and during turns. I may try to disassemble those parts to see whats inside.

Despite the clicking driving me crazy for 4 hours, I'm really impressed with the RAV4. I got to drive through some mountainous areas on a rough road with huge pot holes and RAV4 handled everything with complete ease.
