Can anyone recommend the best hitch to put on a Rav4. I'm looking at the Curt and Draw-tite on Amazon. Both are bolt on, I kinda think the Draw tite is a better one but would appreciate some advice from experienced folks. I'm not tied to Curt or Drawtite, if there's one better please say so.

Look up Hidden Hitch for the RAV, you may be surprised.

I use the Curt 2" on my 2015 and 2016 Hybrid, if you want a hidden hitch, get the Torklift Eco Hitch.

Can'tfind info on the EcoHitch for a Rav. but the ones that I do see are $275. I don't really want one that expensive. Etrailer only lists the curt and drawtite, either one less than 150 shipped. Is one preferred or better than the other. I don't know how to evaluate them, the curt is apparently is most sold but the drawtite has higher weight capacity.

Doesn't matter what the hitch rating is, the Curt 13149 is class 3 rated which is rated higher than the Rav4 is rated for at 1500lbs and 150lbs tongue weight, read the owner's manual. I got the Curt 2" from Amazon for $110 shipped, it's $120 now. If you click the 2013-2017 link on Torklift, you'll see the details of the Rav4.4 ecohitch.

Thanks for the info Quick, the eco hitch job is out of my price range. I'm just not going to spend 270-300 on a hitch. reckon I'll have to stay with the Curt or Drawtite, unless someone has a better recommendation. But to verify, the rating for a rav xle is 1500 and 150 tongue weight, is that right. I don't have access to the owners manual for a while now. Thanks folks.

Yup, page 185-186, braked trail weight max is 1500lbs, unbraked trailer weight max is 1000lbs, tongue weight max is actually 9-11% of the trailer weight, 10% or 150lbs is a good number to use.
