Hi there...
With winter ending I had the dealer put on my summer tire/rim set up. An alignment was also done.
Noticed right away that the steering felt heavier so I adjusted the tire pressure to 36psi as it was off.
Took it back to the dealer as steering was off-centre, so they re-ran the alignment.
I still feel the steering isn't as light as it was before.
Have any other ideas before I take it back to the dealer?

Thanks for reading.

You are probably just feeling the difference between the summer and winter tires/wheels.

Had to take it to another shop who completed a re-alignment. Turns out camber was way off. Now steering is as light as it was before.
I'm no mechanic but I know when the vehicle doesn't drive or sound right. Disappointed Toyota dealership couldn't get it right after 3 tries. However after going back and speaking with the service manager, he acknowledged that my issue should have been brought to his attention the first time. He apologized and credited my account on my next visit.

CdnTF....Good u got it fixed. FWIW... Sometime ago I have similar experience with dealer tech. doing alignment, but diff.brand. Finally went to indie shop who only did alignments/front end work. Guy asked me who did previous job, he said who ever it was didn't do it right (he was right). Since then I realized not all techs etc r created equal.

the Chrometec 19s are super heavy and contribute to that sensation of heavy steering. I feel the same at the start of each spring after I remove the winters.

I'll NEVER go to the dealer for an alignment. Way too expensive. I have a nephew who just finished his trade school for auto mechanics last year. He works for a large dealership. His second week on the job he was doing alignments. He's a smart kid, but very inexperienced. A couple places I use for Alignments....Average experience of people doing alignments is over 20.
