Have you experienced a louder than usual ( engine or whatever) driving sound ? Perhaps I'm overreacting but lately I have been paying close attention to the engine sounds while driving and it's louder than before. I also have been watching the RPM. I've noticed when you first start car, RMP stays at 1000. When stopping at a traffic light, it's idling between 600 to 1000

Also when it's shifting, it would shift 1st gear somewhere around 3000 RMP then 2nd and 3rd are shifted at a lower RPMs. This is kind weird to me. I thought 1 st gear is around 3000 and second 4000. It should shift will RPM gets higher.

I'm sorry I'm not explaining this well enough.

If your idle is fluctuating between 600-1000, then maybe there is a vacuum leak. Or an exhaust leak if it sounds louder?

It's a 2017 with only 45k miles. What rpm should it be idling at?

IIRC it should be 650 +/- 50, at least it shouldn't be fluctuating.

Was it colder than usual outside? mine shift slower when temperature drop but will return to normal when engine warms up a bit.

Did yours have like 2,4596422 transmission software updates for 2017 model that still in some creat issues?

That sounds like my 2018 Sienna a week ago and now my CEL is flashing and it is not driving well at all and making strange pulsating noises. Good luck. I am sad as I came from. Honda and Chevy with high hopes. Nope. Nothing but more engine woes. 😔
