Does someone know why I have three bulbs in my tail light? The top is blinker, middle is brake and tail light, the bottom doesn't light up at all and no visible plug
Just as an FYI, you posted this in the 5th Generation Avalon forum, not the Corolla forum... so that might limit the amount of replies. Hopefully a moderator will move it to its rightful place.Does someone know why I have three bulbs in my tail light? Yes lol. Just so you know, I know my way around cars. You could call me a "backyard mechanic" I guess. In that picture I believe the grey is the turn signal. The orange the brake and tail light. But there is ANOTHER bulb inside the lens that has no visible plug. Under the brake light and off to the side a little. Would have to pull the whole lens out to get to it.Just as an FYI, you posted this in the 5th Generation Avalon forum, not the Corolla forum... so that might limit the amount of replies. You should have two pieces for each side. One attaches to the trunk lid and incorporates just the reverse bulb. The outer one attaches to the rear fender and incorporates a bulb for the stop/parking light and a second one for the turn signal. That one should look like this on the back:

Is this what your tail light fixture looks like on the back?

Unless you have a model that I'm not aware of, there shouldn't be another bulb below the (single) brake/tail light. Especially if it's not connected to anything. I'll risk something : is it possible that you're simply seeing the reflection of the bulb on the highly polished mirror surface of the floor of the light case? It's a bit hard to see on picture but here it is:But there is ANOTHER bulb inside the lens that has no visible plug. Under the brake light and off to the side a little.
