I know the Corolla SE Sedan cost more than the Corolla SE Hatchback and is a larger car than the hatchback with much more cargo space.

Does this mean the Sedan is going to have a better more quiet ride as well as comfortable ride over the hatchback model on real world roads?

Both of these cars have the same 2.0 169 HP engine.
What are the performance specifications differences between these two cars with different bodystyles with the same engine?
Weight differences?

CVT vs. 6 spd. manual transmission performance?
I can drive either transmission but which transmission is going to be more reliable, with less problems and last longer? The CVT has been on the Corolla since 2018 and is warrantied by Toyota for 5 years. So now what does the test of time say about the Toyota CVT transmission?

Which Corolla SE between the Sedan and Hatchback will be more reliable, better comfortable ride with less road noise/engine noise?

I have a 2020 SE sedan, 6-sp. manual. Bought it used last March so I can say anything (yet) about reliability but so far so good. I can't say it if will have a quieter or more comfortable ride than a hatch. I can say that it has a noisier, and harsher, ride than my 2018 Golf Sportwagen. So I don't consider it particularly quiet especially with regards to road noise. But I'd be surprised if the hatch is significantly worse than the sedan.

I will pick a manual over a CVT in a heartbeat. Manuals have stood the test of time. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to service, and if you don't beat up on it, better longevity. The clutch will wear out over time but it's relatively easy to replace and by not abusing it, that can take a very long time. Plus they're just way more engaging to drive. FWIW I'm getting much better fuel consumption than the official Canadian government rating, in mostly rural and autoroute driving. I've been averaging about 42 mpg per tank but I do keep to the speed limits (max 100 km/h) except when overtaking.

I'm pretty sure that the hatch and sedan will be equally reliable.

Personally, between the hatch or the sedan, go with whichever you prefer/better meets your needs. Or is available. I was ready to buy either if I could find the right car at the right price. That ended up being a sedan. If you get a 2023 it will have to be CVT, no more manuals in 2023. And good luck finding a 2022.

Sedan has a larger trunk, hatchback is more practical. Overall I prefer hatchback vehicles because you can fit almost anything inside, but I got the corolla sedan because the hatch trunk is ridiculous.

I didn't buy my corolla for the utmost in performance. It has enough to power for a bit of a smile, which is enough for me. It is extremely efficient for a gas car, easy to drive, has good cargo room except for the lack of compartments and a tiny center console, and the reliability I expect to be very good because it's a toyota.
I went with the CVT SE Sedan. It has a physical first gear, which i thought was good, the more modern engine, and has more rear passenger space and the trunk is larger than the hatch area due to the back end of the sedan sticking out more beyond the rear tires than the hatch.

Sedan has longer wheelbase so in theory better ride via less choppy movement. But also has 18" wheels with less sidewall so that will negate that. Reliability should be equal between the two but who knows, its a relatively new car. Buy the one you like best after a test drive

I have an 03 Matrix and a 22 hatchback. Feels like I am driving a luxury car when I drive the Hatchback. It depends on what your standards are. Not to offend anyone the rear end of the sedan screams econobox to me. The hatch seems sportier to me but the lack of storage space is surprising.

For handling, I love my go cart HB. Next summer it will need new tires, I'll likely go 235, and I have a FSTB on the way, so cornering should be even more fun

If you need room in the back seat, there actually is a significant difference between the HB and Sedan. I can barely even get into the back at all in the HB, and forget ever sitting back there, according to Toyota's site it's nearly 5 inches. I also would note I don't like the sedan for various reasons and don't need this space so it's no issue to us:

My kiddo sits in the back <5% of the time I drive the car, and she does not care LOL. Cargo wise all Costco stuff that doesn't fit into hatch goes onto back seat. My hatch also has a sub box so my cargo space has 13" less room than sedan

As far as the leg room in the front goes, when I test drove the two I couldn't tell the difference:

When we test drove we quickly discovered we didn't like the sedan. Driving position, materials used, personal preferences, value were all much better in the HB IMO. If we hadn't test drove we wouldn't have experienced this difference and that's why it's so important to actually test drive. After test driving we would not buy the sedan, but we really liked the HB package, not perfect, but overall a great value and very comfortable for us. I'm very tall as well and no problem fitting in the front seat on either. Due to the different driving position I felt the HB feel was just better for my preferences and body type. My wife felt the same and she very small. So you really need to test drive and these people who don't just blow my mind.

We don't have a spare tire so we have that BS enhanced cargo capacity and we are able to fit in one large suitcase, 2 large duffle bags, several small bags and 1 carry on suitcase without putting the back seats down and still using the privacy cover. Now in our Yaris sedan we could put in 2 large suitcases instead of one large and one small with all the other stuff, and we can fit 2 large suitcases in the HB, but it's less efficient than jamming it full with smaller bags etc in collaboration.

💯 support the comment about test driving. IMO the two, HB and sedan, drive very differently and only by test driving or renting for a few days one can truly appreciate either...

Given HB is my commuter car, my primary criteria was the drive, and secondary was audio. JBL was not available at the time, but I made my own audio upgrades shortly after purchase. HB was a perfect match.

If space is your primary or secondary criteria, then HB will be a tough sell. FWIW, Costco TP pack can be crammed into hatch with the cover removed, although I prefer to put it on back seat and the groceries into hatch LOL

is 235 a thicker sidewall that fits on the 18" rims?
