anyone know if i can convert my '80 4X4s 20R to run on propane? If I can, what will need to be done?

I will assume that I will need a different carb, and that I will need to hard pipe a propane tank into the truck somewhere, but is there any thing else?

And where whould I get the Carb? and how much would it cost?

Back in the 70's and early 80's there were a bunch of propane conversion companies offering kits for just about anything in the gas crunch years. They have largely faded away now. A few are still around, though so try a google search for propane conversion. I found some a few years ago when I was thinking of converting a chevy to propane and then turbo'ing it. Propane has higher octane and is well suited to boosting. Can't remember how I found them and the links I had are all gone.

LP gas conversions are common here in Aus, short answer, it can be done, it is a specialist job and for safety sake should be done by a licenced gas fitter. Parnell and Impco make gas carbies that fit on your existing petrol carby.
