I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this. I could get a hold of a set of individual throttle bodies off a 20v 4A-GE, but I am only interested if it is possible to adapt them to fit on a 16v 4A-GE. I heard there is an adapter plate you can use to make this possible, but I am not sure how you could get a hold of that. Also, if it even is possible to do this, would it be possible with a 4A-GZE? I know their intake manifold setup is very different from an NA engine, but I figured it would at least be worth looking into. Thanks for any feedback you guys can offer.

Answer my own question

I will spare everyone the time of trying to answer my dumb question, as I found out that it does indeed work with a NA 16v engine, though I am not sure where you can aquire a adapter, probably a custom fab job there. There really is no feasible way to make it work with the SC 4A-GZE, because there isn't a normal intake manifold there. It is a type of manifold lower end that feeds to a pipe that goes to the intercooler, so obviously it would not really be possible to make individual throttle bodies work with that unfortunately.

heres the deal, an adapter can be easily made. TWMinduction.com has a manifold to bolt to your engine to fit webber carbs you can slice that in half and custom fab a plate to match the mounting flange of the Itb's weld those two flanges toghether and you have your custom intake.

yes, there are some attempting to retrofit the sc12 or sc14 onto a 20V... some have come close (becaues the project isnt' done)..... you need to redirect the sc piping down under the itb's then reroute the charge pipe to an ic then back into a plenum...... ie, more work than it's really worth.

you can get an adapter from technotoytuning.com ..... HOWEVER, beware... the adapter is made for an ae86, so honestly the guys over there (at T3) don't know what's entailed when being installed into a FWD/MR2 setup so they aren't knowledgeable about what needs to be modified. I found this out first hand on my ae92.

o.k. Why did Jekylandhyde have to show me the custom individual throttle bodies? Its hard enough to wait for my car to get going. The engine will get mounted tommorrow so hopefully I will bring it to life once again. I just can't wait, because Ive been driving an automatic for 3 months and I just crave power right about know. I want to buy so many upgrades but as many of you guys know, money is always an issue.
