I also would like to know if i could bolt a 1986 toyota turbo diesel pick up cab to my 1985 toyota 4runner frame?? In other words do the body mounts match up?

No. The deck height changed for the '85 and newer 22R/RE's.

No.

Don't know, as the '86 is IFS and has a wider frame iirc. Youd have to try and get a measuring tape in there somehow and measure across the cab mounts.

1991 22re into a 1982

I have a 1982 pickup 4X4 that has a blown 20r (Not the stock motor) and I have access to a 1991 22re. What is the easiest way to place the 22re into the 1982 pickup? Can I exchange the intake manifold from the 20r onto the 22re and effectivly have 22r? If not What would I need as far as wiring, computer, feul pump etc?

Intakes will not swap from 20r to 22r. Water passage from head to block is different. I think I would find a 22r intake(ebay) and carb for the 91. That would be the easiest.

Ok, there's a little mis-information going on here.

There's a certain amount of interchangeability of engine parts between a 79-80 20R and a 81-84 22R, and again between an 81-84 22R and a 85+ 22R/RE.

For more accurate specifics I suggest you contact LCE or DOA, both "experts" in the Toyota 22Rx series engines.

I'm looking for the mis-information...a 20r intake will NOT work on a 22r..period. A 20r head WILL work on an 84 older 22r..but you need the 20r intake. There are two 20r heads and intakes, one with the hole for mechanical fuel pump, one without. The original question, can I bolt a 20r intake or head on a 91 22r. NO..NO..NO!! at least not without a bunch of modifying. You cannot bolt a 91 22r head on a 20r, the pistons will hit the head. You can also do this with modifying. You cannot put a 22r piston in a 20r without boring it. The guy is trying to find a simple solution to get back on the road. Answear...find a carb and intake for a 91 22r.
