So I got an aftermarket gauge installed in the Corolla last night to monitor temps. After idling a while, short drive and idle in driveway last night it sits at about 220•
For you 2T guys, is this too hot/somewhat normal/ slightly hot?
Water pump and thermostat are new (few months), radiator was checked professionally and revamped.
not sure how concerned to be

That’s too hot, but before you worry there’s something wrong with the car, check that gauge with another gauge in a pot of boiling water to confirm they both read the same.

Can do. It’s brand new, but I should confirm it works accurately through testing.
Also, the sensor in the thermostat housing is fairly old as well, so there may be something there too.

I believe I may have had the thermostat misaligned-
Does anyone have any documentation or knowledge on the proper alignment?
