I just bought a 2008 2WD Tacoma, and I am looking at upgrading the tires to something a bit more heavy duty. I have no delusions of grandeur, i.e. big offroad tires, I just want something long lasting and practical. So here's my question, I found the tires I want, but the smallest size they come in is 235/75 R-15. My stock tires are 215/70 R-15. Does anyone know of any rubbing issues if I by the slightly larger tires? Or is there an easy way to measure if there will be rubbing issues? Any advice you have would be most appreciated.

Thanks-

I'm not 100% sure how big that is, but if you have a measure in inches, it would help a little more. But i know that i have the 2wd 5lug, which as base as it gets, and i fit 30x9.5x15 on aftermarket rims with only minor trimming so if its less than 30 inches, you should be fine.

thanks

still figuring this whole get-up out... anyhow, thanks for the quick reply. the measures in inches of the 235/75 is 28.85 x 9.25... which means they'll fit! unless... are your after market rims deep dish or offset? that may mess with my rig, because I plan on staying with the stock rims. anyhow, that get's me going in the right direction. best of luck in cali...

I believe i have an 3.5 backspacing, but the 28.85 should fit no problem, if anyhting, you may need to trim the inner fender near the cab, and remove the "black box". it take less then 5 minutes to do both sides, and thats worst case scenario.. best of luck to you and post pics once you get it done.
