ok all i want to know is that which wire is the main wire on the ignition to cut it off so i can put it to a switch on my car so i can have spark and then cut it to have no spark on the car. oh yea also for the people that dont know its a 94 4spd
I would just pick one of the wires that go's to the dist. Theres 2 plugs right? So just tap one of those wires. Are you making an imobilizer or a limiter switch of some kind?
i know there also a ignition box right on the firewall, next to the brake booster, idk if i had to tap into that but the ecu is ok too. but i want more the ignition
In order to do the ignition you will need a heavy duty switch rated at least 25 amp and preferably higher; like 40-50amp. The black with red stripe wire feeds the ignition circut. The problem is it also feeds quite a bit more so what you would have to do is go to the distributor and locate that wire which is sending power to the coil. Clip it and extend the wiring into the passenger compartment. Use the same gauge wire, solder the connections and heat shrink them. Connect to your switch and you are done. It would be even better if you went to the ground side of the igniter as there is almost no amperage in the wiring at that point. That means you can use a cheap switch. You will need the proper diagram (www.techinfo.toyota.com) but do this and only the ignition will fail.
mmm so if the ground can be done the same way, then i will recommend that cause every thing is almost ground and a bit more safer, than having a high amp power going thro the car and then some how touching the chassis cause a bang or something, but if it was the ground do you know which wire exactly would be the ground for it? the other i know which one that one is already.
