I hav the reg cab tacoma. was wondering what yall though about the 6in running 35s would look on the reg cab. i hav the toytec 3in, but not installed yet, and was thinking about jus runnin the new springs up front and runnin 33x12.5x16s. do yall think that 2.5 in of lift from the coils and the 1in diff drop be that bad for the front cv joints. goin back in forth on what i want. want it to look right and flow 2. thanks for your help

I personally would not go with more than a 1.75" lift with the front susp. The front dif drop kit is crap. 35's on the 4cyl on stock gears is silly too.

thats my .02 But its your truck and your lag ;)
i dont like 6 inch lifts, but i tink that would look pretty sick on a reg. cab with 35's:D
too much in my opinion, especially on a reg. cab. i really do like the looks of the 6" kits and 35's on the access cabs and 4 doors, but it makes your truck more and more useless the higher you go. (and more prone to breakage)
also, just my .02
i have the toyteh 3in lift coil over lift kit already. if i was to do just the coils that would give me about 2.5in of lift. and i would stay stock with the rear. would i be able to run 33s. with the diff drop, dont it jus lower the back skid plate or lower the whole diff. im wanting to run 305/70/16 or 33x12.5x16 and the wheel would hqv 4.03 backspacing. do you think that would work. Last question is would I have to replace the control arms. I know that you do on the access and double cabs but I thought I read you don't have to on the reg cabs. thanks for the imput.
Why would you not have to replace the control arms on a regular cab, it's the same suspension. If you were gonna do that big of a tire, you NEED to do control arms. As for those tires on a Reg Cab, DON'T! I only have 265/75/16s, and it slowed my truck down a TON. A guy on another board has a LT Reg Cab with 34's, and it's a DOG. 33's are way too much tire unless you plan on regearing, which is expensive.
i have the 265/75/16s on there now. they have hurt me but very minimal but they also helped me. with the stock 245s i would go from 1st to 2nd almost as soon as i let the clutch out. with the taller tires, i can hold 1st jus a little longer. i would eventually go with the 4.88 gears but for now and about a year i think the 4.10s would pull them. i no power loss but not so great that i can get down the road.
