3S-GE to 3S-GTE swap

Yeah, yeah. I know. "Oh god, this topic again?". Trust me, I've searched the near entirety of the internet & have collected most of the info I need, but there was a few things I wouldn't mind asking or confirming (as a lot of those swap threads are over a decade old).

I have an 1986 Celica GT-S (ST162). The previous owner had put in a second-gen (91'?) 3S-GE and somehow managed to get a GTE harness to work with it... yeah I know. Well long story short, I'm pulling the engine as it started knock-knock-knocking at heavens door. I thought I'd be a nice time to put in an actual GTE, cuz' why not? I've been restoring the car so might as well give it a bit more power.

I've ordered a full engine/transmission assembly from a JDM ST185 Celica (only 50k miles). It was RHD- the importer said 'that doesn't matter' (hope he's right...). It comes with:

- Full uncut harass (Screw using the Frankenstein one in my car currently)
- ECU
- all sensors (as far as I am aware?)
- Alternator
- Engine (of course)
- Transmission (GT4 or w/e)
- Injectors and rails
- Turbo, Top mounted intercooler, other accessories, etc etc

As of the moment I do NOT want to convert to AWD. Possibly when I break it down this winter, just not right now. I want to stick with FWD. So, here's some questions/confirmations I'd like to know:

Q1:
As far as I know, my transmission is from a 91 GT-s so it's an S53 which means it should in theory bolt right onto the GTE no issues. Just use the GT4's pressure plate, which should also be interchangeable without much hassle, right? I'm guessing with the now added power I probably do need to upgrade my clutch disk. Does anyone know a good seller or brand (preferably not a ching chang seller) for those?

Q2:
More air means you need more fuel so assuming my ol' ST162's fuel pump sucks, I'll need to upgrade that as well. Does anyone know of any good 'plug and play' high flow fuel pumps that work on 86' GT-S Celicas? Or will I need to buy a Walbro 255 or something then just wire it up myself to work?

Q3:
I've read that I'll probably have Intercooler clearance issues since it's top mounted. Is this true? If so... anyone know what hood scoop might look nice so I don't have a random hole cut out into my hood  I do plan on running a FMIC in the future- just not now. The needed piping layout seems annoying...

Q4:
As said above, my engine and uncut harass is from a RHD Celica. Will the harness be long enough to reach to where our ECU usually sits in LHD cars? Will I need to extend the harness, or possible just... punch a new hole or two...

And finally, am I missing anything? I want this swap to go as smooth as possible. Are there things I should look for, such as wiring? Anything else I might need to ensure it runs and fits smoothly? I don't plan on pushing the car hard besides AutoX days once a month and highway driving to work.

Any possible thread, manual, or answer/tip would be very much appreciated! Thank's

That's a lot of questions. You can't convert to AWD forget about it the unibody on the AWD is completely different.

S tranny will bolt right up no issues there. The engine harness will probably be too short although that doesn't matter all that much considering you'll need to do a complete custom harness anyway.

Don't have a recommendation on a clutch setup or fuel pump. Final thought, what you are attempting is a huge project so be prepared for that and be prepared to spend a lot of $$$$$.

In the future (once I understand these platform a bit more, and collect a few more parts on my bucket list) I hope to rework a lot of the chassis and frame. And don't worry, I know these things aren't cheap. I've built my fair share of boosted scrap piles

Do you have or know where I can download all the wiring diagrams for the 3S-Ge/TE? All the sites I've gone to just try to give me viruses or say theirs hot girls in my area wanting to meet up! On a more serious note though, considering the previous owner got the current 3SGE to run and work good with a GTE harness, I'm hoping I might actually then be able to use it- or a chunk of it.

Well you need two sets of diagrams one for your car and one from the car the donor engine/ECU came out of. Try here:

or try geetee4.mwp.id.au/ remove the e's.
