True that. Is it easier on the transmission to do that?

Honestly, I wouldn't do it. Used to be that it was harder on them, who knows nowadays. I would assume that a/t's are built much stouter than before and would be able to handle it better but I personally wouldn't do it. That's one of the things on my Tacoma "wish they made it" list: autostick transmission.

All S/Cs will sound like that. And all turbos will have that hissing sound.

The pitch was aweful IMO. Very annoying. So much in fact that I dont think I could ever get used to it. Unless it sounds much worse than it really is. It would be nice to have the extra hp but not at the expense of the s/c and having to use nothing but premium fuel plus the annoying pitch.

He might have an intake too. I bet its not that loud with the stock intake.

I've been in a supercharged 3.4 and the wine from the super charger is pretty loud. I've also been in a turbo charged Talon that had close to 500HP and the turbo was a lot more quite compared to the supercharger. Personally I like the sound of a supercharger. And with my stereo I'd probably never really hear it.

I don't know, I do not like the high pitched whining sound. I think a turbo sounds a lot better!

No, the the Rotrex blowers don't have the the 'blower whine'. So if you get the URD one, you won't hear that noise.
