4runner theft and FOB signals

So I recently had my 2019 4runner stolen from out front of my house. Police said that it was likely done by boosting the FOB signal from the key inside of my house. Has anyone else experienced this? I hear that it is fairly common with Toyota/Lexus SUVS. Fortunately, the replacement is on it's way but huge pain to deal with.
