I'm a die-hard Taco fan and super excited for the new one whenever it arrives. I got these through a Google alert from another VS forum - patent filing for the new Tacoma.

Toyota filed these patents for the next-gen 2024+ Tacoma design, giving us a clear look at what the new pickup truck looks like. It seems to take styling cues from the new Tundra.

It is the EV truck ICE version. looks the the same, especially the side. coil spring rear suspension. a lot of ground clearance.

Unless you are into 4x4 or construction try a Ridgeline.
Not a fan of Hondas engineering, but as an all-purpose family vehicle a RL is much better truck.

Nnnnope, literally none!
Imo it's not even a truck-truck, more like a SUV with a cargo bed.
But the RL is roomier, comfier, quicker, has nicer interior, independent suspension, and in-bed trunk.

speculation is 2.4 turbo around 270hp, but the hybrid could be 360hp as Lexus RX 500H has. I don't believe they will put the V6 turbo in it, especially after Mr. Toyoda stepped back.

Nissan Frontier has 3.8V6 290hp. The VQ engine is legendary.

The new Frontier is 310 HP rated, but the engine is pretty noisy and a lot of power goes in nowhere, the Frontier's 0-60 is 8 sec.
I like Frontier's front end design, but its interior is disappointing.

Honestly, its a solid truck that got the updates but they set the bar low enough for the Tacoma to jump over. I agree it will start looking older once the Tacoma comes. The all new Colorado/Canyon actually looks pretty nice so the competition is coming back, with an all new Ranger about to appear soon.

Chevy has 3.6V6 308hp, Frontie 310hp(I were wrong 290), now the bar is 300+ hp, a good thing for Tacoma to match.

^ 409 ft lbs of torque. I’m planning to test drive one when they come out. Chevy/GMC will have an off-road version with factory lockers front and rear, something Toyota should offer.
