PB used to endorse these switches and had an entire thread on them. Unfortunately they proved to be poorly constructed and failed shortly after so he revoked his endorsement of them. I would look for different switches if were you. If I remember correctly to make them fit you had to square out the hole in the dash but they did fit pretty well.

You don't have to "square" anything. Ther is alip inside the hole for the switches...trim that lip. The 4x4mod switches are maybe 1/16"-1/8" wider than the stock opening. You will see...it's not rocket science.

BTW- this has been covered countless times. This makes the thrid time I've typed it out on this site. If you'd used the search button, you'd have had an answer w/o having to wait for a reply.

I just installed two of them and they suck!! Once I clearanced the stock location they wouldn't stay put.. I had to use a zip tie and hot glue to hold them in place. Other thing I don't like about the ones I got is they light up(way to bright) when off and when on the light is off... I tried it every which way and I can get them to work with no light so I'm going to change it now that I've driven with them at night for a couple of days... Everyone that has not bought them stay away.. Anyone got a good replacement?

I like the custom label part of the 4x4mods switches, but the switch is not built very well. There is a long plastic stem that does the switching between the contacts. I had 2 or 3 of these switches where that stem broke in half inside the switch. Impossible to fix once it breaks. I just trashed them, and got some good NAPA switches. They are built simple and sturdy. NAPA has a catalog you can look through. Order the switches you want and they usually arrive the next day.

You probably removed a little too much plastic from inside the hole. I just removed maybe 1/32" of plastic and they fit real nice and tight.

If you don't like the light you can take the switch apart and cut out the LED inside.
