After 146000 miles, my 5.7 Tundra (motor) that I purchased new in 07 went to graveyard on my way to the office. Dealer says it dropped a few valves, and that the short block is toast. The tech tells me that the 5.7 has a weak valve train, and he has replaced several because of this failure.

Thank you, glad to have found this site.

Not sure... Don't really care... I purchased a lifetime warranty from Fidelity that covers the drivetrain only when I purchased the truck in 2007. Best 1200.00 i have ever spent, they have paid out over 4k so far in past repairs. As of now, I know the new sort block from Toyota is 7k. I am guessing complete repair will be around 11-12K.
