Well now that i'm considering boosting my 5efe, I am considering what other mods i will have to do. I have a fuel pressure reg and injector pulse width alteration, i have full exhaust, good plugs and wires, and i was gonna run 5 or 6 psi on stock motor with no thicker head gasket, just good fuel and spark, keep eye on air/fuel and cool the charged air. Any suggestions would be appreciated. _ANDY_:rolleyes:

Sounds like you've got the ideal situation to me.
The 5E can easily handle 6psi on stock internals.
Diabolique Racing www.diaboliqueracing.com sells cheap turbo kits that bolt right up, with all the connecting hardware etc.
All you gotta do is make it work.
With proper fuel system upgrades you should be able to get it up 9psi safely. Higher than that would probably require lowering the compression.

Oh yeah, in my opinion, if you're going the turbo route. It's better to add a turbo to the 5E, rather than do a 4E swap. Especially considering that all the turbo components from a 4E are a direct fit onto a 5E, why would you bother to swap the entire engine, and sacrifice those valuable 200cc's of displacement?

If you have high mileage, go after the 4E-FTE swap...you wont be sorry, or is you got the change, get the 5E-FHE and boost it...nasty results. As far as turboing the 5E-FE, BYP has some great Turbo kits that will get you more or less boost depending on your budget...Stage 1 - Stage 3 Turbo Kits. Wicked EP Racing hasa nice lil package for turboing tercels also. Got more info if you like.

ok yeah, well the engine has about 150,000 on it, i was kind of weary, but it still runs like when i got it! Yeah, if you could point me to some sites or links that'd be awesome. i was probably gonna hunt down the 4efte turbo and man. and go from there. i checked out diabolique racing's site and inquire, but they said they wouldn't see those until around september.... so

Since your engine is still running fine. Get a BYP Stage 1 Turbo kit and slap it on until the motor is trashed..then take it of and sell it and use the money for a 4E-FTE swap..cant go wrong. Oh BYP kits are in stock btw ;) . You can reach BYPs Toyota Specialist GT Revva on To.coms boards or my site after shop hours if you dont get to call during the day. Both links are here just search them out.

Thats good! Curious...we're you able to cool off after that massive race with the 'ac' when you were finished? :rolleyes: :lol:

No...just not yours as I remember it. I'll skip all the preliminaries and just guess that you have an issue with the 5E or maybe with a ...BYP 5E...after all, you final line in your string isnt very inviting....who knows, but this is the deal. There is a very nice 5E-FHE turboed doing the deed in Florida once owned by GT Revva of BYP and later sold. As research has show from using both the 4E and 5E (see to.com for the story) the 5E-FHE turboed has a lot more punch than the 4E. Now..you yourself have argued back and forth something awful about several different things regarding...a multitude of issues...this does not have to be one of them. All Im going to say is that the 5E-FE is worth boosting...a 5E-FHE is even better a platform to use....theres proof that supports both claims an when all else fails....you could race them and see for yourself...I'm sure you would be a welcomed guest in Florida. Tercelsuperfast, you have your turbo kit, go all out bro and let us know whats up!

I had A/C on my 4e.

I ran around with that for about a year.
I eventaully tore the condensor and everything else out for the FMIC.

I took the A/C out because I did not need it where I live and I wanted the space for other things.

My problem isnt with what BYP does, it is with the people.
They refused to sell me a cluster, and treated me like shit when I was asking questions, is how this all started so dont give me any of your shit when you do not know enough about it.

Turbo...I've been on TO as long as you n Revva, so take the hint of base out of your voice son cause I know all about it and then some...its pathetic and you should get over it. I started nothing, you mocked my prior comment about beating an STI.
BYP has unfriendly people in my experience.
And I would never EVER go to a tercel meet, there are too many hateful people to go to one.

No, you came off as if the 4E was superior to the 5E boosted, then threw a snyde remark about beating an STI with your 4E, difference was.... there is numerous videos out there of the Stealth murdering various different cars including a 350Z touring edition and others to name. Hey I feel for your experience but those are my peoples and I will stand by them because they have done for most Tercel what few could or would want to. This thread was to support the 5E being boosted. I was trying to stay on the topic, which reminds me...can we do that or continue? Too bad you dont go to Tercel meets.....most who refuse to go are usually social paths or suffer from paranoia in my experience. I fear not the hateful or haters...only GOD!

Why did I think you would run like 15's? I run 16's with my 5EFHE

I have gone to three beretta fests.
They are good people..........much nicer than tercel owners.

Maybe you'd feel different if you were around a more mature and focused Tercel group, but whatever works for you. Im not sure whats out in Colorado, but on the East Coast, their are many options. Nothing against Berettas....actually...I beat a GTZ version 'I believe thats what it was' when I 1st got my 5E-FHE. After 20 minutes of being at a gas station on hwy 40 in NC, the Beretta driver pulled up an asked me about my car, we chilled an talked for a bit. It was all good. People need to just relax, thats what I say.
