7A-FE Turbo research, parts, wiring etc

Hey guys, I recently made a post about doing some research on a BT/ST engine swap and it slowly turned into a simple manual swap which seems more doable (i say more do able because its been 6 months of looking for a 5 speed transmission, body harness, engine harness and ECU with no damn luck) and because this is my daily, im collecting as much information as I can to do this big project and since I havent gotten parts for the trans I thought it might be time to at least move forward and start thinking about engine performance. I already know itll be a manual first before anything but i also want to plan a turbo build for this engine, I have seen posts about turbo builds and people essentially tearing into their motors and rebuilding it from the ground up but before i even think about that ill need to know a few things. 1, what turbo kit should i buy? i am well aware there are no plug and play turbo kits for a 7AFE motor so id like to know what kit would be best for it if there is even a kit for it like a universal one. 2, what type of standalone ecu will i need to run a turbo? what specific standalone will i need considering itll piggy back over the stock ecu? i have no idea what types of standalones are there like for efi and ignition or no ignition idk. 3, W H E R E the hell do i get bigger injectors and a performance fuel pump that will fit in the fuel pump module? what about fuel regulator? the stock one is like hard mounted to the rail and what to do with the fuel rail for bigger injectors, plus the injectors just sit in little dents in the manifold and its a hard line to the fuel filter and then a hard line to the tank. if anyone can give me links to corolla applicable products lmk and lmk what need to be done to get this motor ready for a turbo. it has 56000mi on it and its in good condition. this is just one part of performance mods i want to do and possibly the hardest, hell i wanted to do a blacktop/silvertop swap but ended up changing my mind for a manual swap then turboing the 7A-FE so all information and pointers are appreciated

It's simple, what can you do?
About what exactly? I can do everything but idk what kits or ecus n stuff i need
Anything that works. I just did a Google Search and the results are more than I anticipated.
What did you google exactly?
Thats just what others have done and other research that i already saw but i eant to be sure, plus im pretty sure just adding a turbo isnt just clean cut n dry, i prolly need a standalone and prolly bigger injectors with fuel pump which i need help sourcing out specifically. I see theres that turbokit from turbokits.com that fits but i just wanna make sure i do some research fully before droppin 2k on a turbokit thatmight blow up my car without proper tuning and fuel injection and even ignition
Then instead I suggest buying another car and leaving this as your project because with where you are heading, all you are gonna have for a while is research and failure until you reach what you want.
thats why i havent torn into it yet regarding turboing it but ok thanks

1. Turbo kits.com
2. Haltech, AEM, or mega squirt
3. Supra brown injectors. I've seen this referenced before as it is the same style that Corolla uses. I believe it's for na 2jz ge

Turbokits.com ok check thatll be fine then, for the standalone what specific one do i go for and do i have to depin my stock harness to pin to the standalone? Just like the fuel injection signals, power ground right? as for the injectors tyvm and will my oem fuel pump work ok with those injectors? What about my regulator?

I think the ecu comes with terminal pins and some wiring. In some cases, you'd have to supply the pins and wiring.

Basically, you'll be wiring everything. You'll need a wiring diagram, dmm, and crimpers. Lots of long nights will be involved with the wiring harness. Make sure you have a second vehicle as this will not be a weekend project. If you can, try to source a second engine harness. This way, if you make mistakes, you know how it's wired.
Why not a 3sgte?

Ok cool. Thank you for that and well im not trying to go TOO crazy. Remember i mentioned i made a blacktop/silvertop research page too, then that slowly shifted to a manual swap research guide which im currently working on because i cant find the trans, ecu and body and engine harness for the 94 since theyre so rare. Im willing to tackle this project because its my car im very familiar with, im not too keen on other engines or other setups like the 3sgte im not even sure what model that engine is in lol. Im trying to make this as much as i can plug n play so to speak even tho this turbo will be anything but lol but as for the manual swap that will definitely be plug and play if i can find a damn 94 donor
Im not looking for big huge power gains either, just a little more pep in the step is all for a little car, plus itll be something unusual to see at a car meet, hell even a full 3sgte swap like you mention would be different too but everyone has their opinion

3sgte is more readily available. There's a seller here in Arizona selling engine, ecu, and trans for $2k. These are more affordable than the bt/st.

Damn Thats all i gotta say lol yea i was watching bt and st selling for the same uf not more than 2k on ebay jesus but like i said im goin a different route, i appreciate the pointers, i just gotta pick the right standalone really and i think ill be aight. Not sure bout the fuel regulator/ return whatever the bell thing is at the end of the rail and the fuel pump but we shall see if anyone else got answers to those points

The 3SGTE is going to be ready to rock and roll when you get it bolted in to the car.

Perhaps the most difficult aspect of turboing begins once you have the turbo and everything else bolted in to the car...
