Hi everyone!

First time posting, not sure if you guys can help but I am out of options!

I own a 1983 Toyota Corona CS with the Starfire 1X engine. Ever since I bought it I've had problems with what I am assuming is the carburettor. It fires up fine and idles fine (when it's cold) and even drives fine but as soon as its warmed up and I come up to an intersection or stop sign the rpm drops and will run very rough until it stalls once I've come to a stop. It was sitting for about 1.5-2 years and not started so I have cleared the fuel lines, replaced the fuel filter and checked the spark plugs. It does seem to backfire a lot once you let off the accelerator as well. I am assuming it's something to do with the carburettor but I am not sure it could be something else entirely. Any insight would be much appreciated! Thankyou!

I will attach a photo of the car for reference.

Hi m8

My 1.6 '91 4A-F does pretty much the same*... (But not all that often = live with it)

... Agreed likely carb :frown:

*no back pops

Back pops might indicate timing  ..?

If its carbed it would have a choke, so maybe the choke is not shutting off once it gets warm.
The timing would be the other thing to look at.
