Hello all,
I bought an 86 toy with the 22r, picked it up really cheap (rod out block),
anyways I am looking at buying a rolled 83 toy with the 22r in it also, just curious to see if there were any engine mods between these years that I should be looking for if i decide to swap the 83 22r into the 86.

The early (84-) and later (84+) 22R's have different blocks and heads which are not interchangeable, but the engines as a whole are a direct swap.

i did find some info on the 22re changing at that time also, was not for sure on the r...... Again thanks

The later 22R and the 22RE use the same block and head.
