New to Toyota and now I have a huge problem. Main fuse blew somehow and replaced 80 amp fuse. Now truck still wont start. No spark from coil. Checked coil; seems good. New pick up in distributor still no fire. Junk yard Igniter assembly and still no fire. Please help, I herd this was the best engine toyota ever built, now I cant use the darn thing.

Thanks for any reply.

Still having trouble.

sorry, I go to school full time and I have not had a chance to mess with the problem.

Ok, I replaced the coil same problem, I replaced the pick up in the distributor, I have tried a junk ignition assembly, and still no spark.

You asked an important question: I don't know why the fuse blew. I do know that the key was left in the ignition with the lights on for a while. If there is anything else; my son is not telling me.

Am I starting in the wrong place? I also downloaded a manual on a 87 p/u and went through the trouble shooting section to test the coil. VOM reads everything the manual says it should. Of course I could have done the test wrong.

Is there a better place to start my trouble shooting?

speaking of basics....is the distributor rotor spinning?? I broke a chain one time. You should have 12volts on one side of the coil, the igniter(electronic ignition) breaks the negative side of the coil to produce a spark. Hope that helps.
