hello im new this this place, i just recently purchased my first toyota pickup:clap: a 86 toyota 4x4 turbo efi, 180,000 miles. well it used to be a turbo efi but that missing now. someone down the line converted to a weber carb setup. runs great it come from the factory with ac but thats missing to. so what im wondering is my motor a 22r are a 22re are a 22rte? how do i know? and i ran arcoss a good deal on a 91 toyota 22r with everything from ac parts to the efi manifold. whould these parts bolt right back up to my motor? are would that be to much trouble? i would really like to get this back close to orginal as possible.

Really hard to tell whats been modified from your description. If it runs good, then leave it alone. Someone before you found replacing the turbo x what HP it puts out, and realized the reward was not worth it. Your truck was covereted to carb, and more than likely all the electrical is not there. Their all the same motor, just with different fuel & oxygen feed.
Whats missing on the A/C?

Same compressor for all of them that year. Is the hard lines still there?
Factory a/c, and no condensor? Must have had an accident, and removed it, otherwise whats the point?

So you have a turbo EFI truck that has been converted to carb and the A/C is missing?
Are you sure the previous owner didn't just swap a carbed engine (22R) in? The lower compression of the 22RTE would make converting it to carb a weak engine. In other words, they're not all the same motor, but they're similar.
The A/C compressor and other parts would vary slightly through the years, primarily the mounting location and bracketry, and where the ports are.
Determining what you need and if the 91 will adapt will take a bit of research on your part.
