I wouldn't suggest using a 3SGTE in your old chassis.
Are you trying to build a racecar?
whats wrong with a 3sgte in a sv21? theres plenty around, well two at least in sydney australia, and heres the latest
ST205 3sgte in a sv21
link
so userlain the car will handle the power, its more so what are you willing to do to make sure it can handle the power. also as a stock unit the 3sgte should be fine to drive its only when u start building up the 3sgte that you may suffer problems such as too much torque steer etc.
blkdmnrcing, what you need to do is research some more about the engine you wish to drop into the car. then read abt some other engines (my pick for NA is the gen 3 3sge) that may fit, then start calculating the costs, where your gonna get the work done, any legality/smog issues u might have etc.
once you have decided, lets say for now that you will get a st185 3sgte (gen2 3sgte). you can use the standard sv21 transmission but it might not last that long. so then you can either get the e153 with or without LSD is ur perogative. you can also use the 3sge transmission, though i have heard that some celica guys have had problems with the starter motor location. so make a choice.
then choose ur axles etc.
then think abt whether with all that power are you going to stop on time. now if u had decided to get a celica 3sgte half cut, then you can actually take the front brakes (rotors and calipers) and transfer them onto your sv21.
other things you might want to think abt are wiring issues (this is moreso if u do the conversion yourself). motor mounts (depends if u use the 3sgte ones or 3sfe ones and some other aspects).
now finally you say you want to run a big turbo afterwards, thats cool, i'm all for it. BUT the 3sgte is a fabulous engine and ultimately it depends where u want to go in terms of building up the engine. do u want just basic cams, pistons basic rebuild, or do u want all out strengthen this baby for 25psi rebuild. the choice is yours mate.
and how big a turbo do u want to bolt on? whats your ultimate goal for the car? if you want a big turbo say T66 like good ol TonyTheTiger, then are you willing to accept a bit of lag?
in concluding my essay i would like to thank .... whoops

:
what it all boils down to mate, is what are your goals, what are your funds, and how motivated are you to go whole way with it. TN will help you whatever amount it can but first you need to do some more reading (TN has a great deal) and then make ur choices, come back here and we'll go forward from then
thank you all for reading
