88 runner v6 engine swap to 22re

first off, is it worth it? my 3.0l v6 headgasket is gone but still runs great(not for long) my 4runner is a 5spd manual and i do have 2 spare 22re motors, would the 22re bolt onto this transmission?

No it's not worth the work, and no the trans won't bolt-up.

To swap the motor is easy. Yes, the transmission will not bolt up. You will need to swap more than the engine. You will need the engine wire harness, ECU, etc.

If it were me, I would pull the 3.0 put it on an engine stand and do the headgasket, replace the seals, timing chain, etc since it is there.

It is very inexpensive to take a head in to get cleaned and machined.

I take it you have never planned a project before?

If the OP has access to basic tools, zero friends and lives in the sticks...then yeah....it could be difficult.

My advice would be to find out what is required for the project and make friends with people who can help you out.

Cooling, exhaust, ECU, wiring can all be grabbed from a scrap yard. Even the motor mounts can be grabbed from a junk yard.

If you do not do any research into your project and take it on blindly then you are an idiot.
