I just got a 91 4runner for 600 bucks with a bad head gasket on it other than that great shape in side and out and a 4x4 auto. I have started pulling the motor down but I dont want a really slow ride would I come out better with a motor swap maybe a chevy v6 but what would that cost and can you get all the stuff you need at one place besides motor. Thanks for the help

I know i'm probably too late but if you haven't already took the motor out. You can possibly run the VIN with your local toyota dealer and see if they have replaced the head gasket for a recall. If they have not done it they will do it free of charge and if they have already, continue on!
