I got my 92 camry done and the only thing wrong with it is the windows frost real bad. The a/c doesnt' work but lots of cars didn't even come with a/c and they didnt' frost. I first thought that the heater core was bad but it doesn't loose any coolant and the windows defrost where the ducts are but no where else. Both side doors pretty much get frosty and have water beads running down them and the top of the windshield. I have to run the heater on full blast to be able to see and it's starting to piss me off. Only other thing I noticed was lots of dust in the trunk but the trunk lid weatherstripping was really flattened and I replaced it with new stuff from the dealer so I think that should be o.k. The car is really solid and I don't see any rust holes anywhere. SO anyone have any ideas? Or know where there is hidden spots that tend to rust or open up that need to be sealed? I can't find any and don't know what to do. I gotta go on a 400 mile trip sat and want to try and find the problem. The windshield has a crack vertically in it about in the center but it doesn't seem to leak or anything, could that cause it? It only frosts at night or dawn and dusk, mid day it's fine? HELP!!!!!! Thanks Guys:clap:

Got the cure for you....move to Florida!!! :whatwhat:

Seriously, I know what you mean. I'm staying in N Dakota at the moment. My windows were partly frosted on the inside this morning, it was below zero overnight. I have remote start so by the time I get out there the car is warmed up. I've seen new cars with frost on the inside, it must be a below zero thing. For the few days out of the year that it gets taht cold I wouldn't worry about it...it will soon pass.

No you don't understand, these frickin things frost over white with actual like ice as I'm driving down the road with the heater on full hot and high fan on defrost, hell the rear window defroster can't even keep the back one completely clean and it is worse now cause it's like zero but when it's 25-30 degrees it still does it and it's makin me very angry:wtf: I got the thing for free cause tranny was bad, fixed that, then motor mounts, then the diff was to wore causeing axle shaft slop, then rear struts, then rear sway bar bushings, and trunk weatherstripping, then the radio quit, then steering rack boot tore, then valve cover was leaking, now oil pump or something is starting to leak out of front cover and it looks like the head gasket is leaking oil by the distributor end. Not the dizzy o-ring already checked that when I did valve cover, timing belt, and water pump. Did i mention i did all this in the last 2 months. It's startin to make me wanna get rid of it real fast.:bash:

Make sure you're not in recirc as this will cause the inside glass to fog/freeze from your breath. You need to use outside air. Also, the A/C DOES dehumidify so not having it MAY contribute to your problem. The thermostat could be weak in a car that old (I have a '92 Camry) and the temp may not be as hot as it should be. Door seals could be letting in moisture as well. I'm in OKC, OK so I don't see your kind of cold often. Just listing a few ideas as I know them. Good luck!

I'll check the vent to see where it's at but it's on fresh air just if it's workin or not. Also The a/c is designed to run when the switch is on defrost but it doesn't work and they shouldn't frost that bad without it I don't think. Also the thermostat is brand new stant superstat and is 195 degree and it blows hot air so that isn't the problem. thanx guys.

Yeah someone told me once that if you run defrost and a/c at the same time, it does defrost. It's kind of stupid, but it does work.
when you turn on the defroster, the AC comes on automatically even though the button isnt lit. it does that because dry air from having the AC compressor on clears the window faster.

On generation 3 Camrys (92-96) the A/C does not come on automatically when in the defrost mode. You have to manually turn the A/C on if you want it's help in defrosting the windshield. It was not until the generation 4 Camrys came out that the A/C will come on automatically in the defrost mode. With the generation 4 Camrys the A/C light will also come on in the defrost mode, showing that the A/C is helping defrost the system. I have owned both a generation 3 and a generation 4.

I also believe you have the switch set to recirculate. Double check it.

To the guys that posted it's on recirculate you were right. I pulled the glove box out and the flapper door was on recirculate. I zip tied it to fresh air cause something is wrong in the control cause the cable isn't broken and tada it fixed it completely, like zero frost. Thanks guys!!!!

Glad you now have heat and no condensation on the windows.

When the warm Summer weather comes you will need to get that recirculation issue fixed as you will need max A/C from time to time. Max A/C only works on recirculate.
