Hi all,
I had to get a jump-start the other night and the other party hooked up their cables bass-ackwars (+ to - and - to +). It was dark but... Anyways, as soon as I hit the key and nothing happened I jumped out and unhook my cables and had them switch theirs around and that worked. It started right up. When I drove off I noticed, faintly, that dreaded burnt electric smell and noticed the radio and clock we dark and not working. Next morning I checked the radio fuse and it was ok.

Does anyone have an idea as to what might have gotten fried and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

The clock and radio have 2 fuses, one for constant 12V and one for switched 12V. Did you check both?

fourwd1,
No, I only checked the fuses on the drivers side kick panel so after your reply I did go check the box in the engine compartment and found that the 'DOME' fuse was blown so I replaced it and the radio and clock came back to life! Go figure - DOME equals RADIO/CLOCK.

Anyways, big thanks and handshake to you for sending me in the right direction!

Best regards,
Ed E.
